Pest Negotiations
By Talley Brown

Are you tired of the time, expense and ecological damage of standard methods of pesticides? Try negotiating with your "pests." What follows is an interview with noted Animal Communicator Lorelei Hunt. She has not used any form of pesticide inside or outside her home since she began negotiations with her property’s deva or guardian angel.

Q: Who benefits from this method of "pest" control?

A: Anyone who is willing to give up pesticides, has respect for nature, and is willing to live in harmony with nature. You have to have faith that these negotiations will work, and that "pests" are not the enemy. It is about living together peacefully with all of the life on this planet.

Q: What can you target with this method?

A: Just about anything. I use this method to cut down on "pest" destruction of my gardens and to keep unwanted critters out of my house.

Q: When do you have to begin negotiations?

A: Early spring is the best time to begin negotiations. However, throughout the year you must continue to give positive reinforcement and express your thankfulness and gratitude to the "pests" for holding up their end of the bargain.

Q: Where do you have to be to accomplish this method?

A: In your home or on your property, in a quiet, relaxing spot.

Q: Why are negotiations better than standard pesticides?

A: Negotiations are better for the environment. It maintains the circle of life and keeps you from killing beneficial animals, insects, and "volunteer" plants.

Q: How does this method work?

A: Although anybody with good intentions, who is able to meditate and open up to the universe, is capable of using this method, learning how to talk with the animals is extremely helpful. Begin by talking to your property’s deva about what you intend to do. Set out rules. Request help living peaceably with all the life on your property. Describe what you envision: no pesticides, feeding and providing clean water for the wildlife, everyone is welcome to the fruits of the garden within certain constraints. Describe what you expect in return: only spiders in the house (all other bugs stay outside), no damage to the house. I ask that my "pests" damage no more than 20% of the garden, taking whole plants or whole fruits/vegetables, so that I may have 80% of my garden whole and beautiful. Request that the devas’ help make your negotiations a reality.

Q: To what extent does negotiation work?

A: "Pests," whether the are animal, insect, plant, bird, etc. are individuals. Typically, however, working with your property’s devas is like working with an authority figure for the flora and fauna who live with you. Although some insects, like fire ants or aphids, find it very difficult to quash their instinctual habits, compliance percentages are quite high. (Asking spiders to reside in the corners of your home helps keep home invaders to a minimum.) Most importantly, follow through and keep your word. To live in harmony with the universe, you must be an honest human being.
